Amid PR follies, Facebook attempts to humanize

Facebook has a lot of communication problems. Its latest one spread like wildfire through the Internet as users felt a change to the service’s terms of service ceded ownership of their data to Facebook. Amid the firestorm, Facebook backtracked, but the damage had been done. And as problems like this continue to occur, the company runs the risk of being viewed as a faceless (ironic huh?) entity capable of doing evil. So it’s no real surprise today that the company is launching a new portion of the site to attach a face to some of those that work on the service.
