Facebook Chat Returns to Meebo
Meebo got me to drop my IM client when they added Facebook Chat back in December. Unfortunately, Facebook soon after pulled the plug on the service, mainly because they wanted Meebo to use Facebook Connect to access user’s friend’s lists, as founder Seth Sternberg described in a blog post last month.
Today, that implementation has been completed, and Facebook Chat will return to Meebo. That’s great news for users like me, who can now communicate not only with our buddies on AIM, GChat, and the other networks that Meebo supports, but also social networks (Meebo supports MySpace too). It’s also great news for Facebook, who stands to introduce the Connect concept to millions of new users, who in turn will become more comfortable as they see Facebook logins pop up on more sites around the Web.
